Whether you're considering a custom home or a commercial project, the engineering team at Complete Design will bring a measured approach rooted in science and technology.

  • Analysis of Existing Structures, Load Rating, Site Observations

Observation and measurement of existing structures on-site. This service can be used to load rate existing structures to determine repair or retrofit recommendations for damaged or substandard and to determine the feasibility of remodels or additional to a structure. Clients have used this service to gain information on a home prior to purchase to determine the feasibility of removing interior walls, to determine the structural extent of damage for damaged structures and to load rate existing structure for regulatory compliance.

  • Building Structural Design

Our Structural Design Services range from multi-story commercial structures to projects as small as a deck addition. Complete Design offers Structural Design Services for residential and commercial structures including:

    • Timber, steel, Masonry and concrete structures. Our comfort with these types of building materials allows us to be flexible with your project; designing for aesthetics, function and economy.
    • Foundation Design. A buildings foundation connects the building to the ground and transfers its forces to the earth. Complete Design has experience with typical shallow foundations, drill piers, helical piers, and driven piles. Whether we are designing the foundation of a pre-manufactured steel building or as part of a complete structure in-house, Complete Design is able to lend our services to complete your project.
    • Retaining wall design. Retaining walls are structures constructed to retain soil. These walls allow use of more area on sites with slopes and allow the client more control over their site. Complete Design has experience with rockery, block, cast in place, and mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining walls.
  • Feasibility Studies

All projects carry a cost and we are here to help you determine if your project is possible or potentially more trouble than it is worth. We offer:

    • Evaluation of Existing Structures for addition or remodel
    • Evaluation of Existing Structires for new uses
    • Evaluations of plans or proposals for potential issues
  • Foundation Designs

The foundation of a structure connects the structure to the ground and transfers the forces experiences by a structure to the earth.

    Foundations can consist of:

    • Typical shallow concrete foundations
    • Drilled piers
    • Helical piers
  • Manufactured Building

A type of prefabricated structure that is largely assembled in factories and then transported to sites of use.

  • Retaining Wall Design

Relatively rigid walls used for supporting soil laterally so it can be retained at different levels on the two sides. Retaining walls are structures designed to restrain soil to a slope that it would not naturally keep to (typically a steep, near-vertical or vertical slope). They are used to bound soils between two different elevations often in areas of terrain possessing undesirable slopes or in areas where the landscape needs to be shaped severely and engineered for more specific purposes like hillside farming or roadway overpasses.

  • Observations & Inspections

Complete Design's team offers Expertise in observation and inspection services. These services involve site visits to various structures and include measurements and visual observations. This service can include:

    • Load Rating of existing structures to determine code and regulatory compliance
    • Special Inspection of steel and masonry during construction
    • Investigation of specific structural concerns – bowing roofs, cracked foundations, sagging joists, etc. and determining structural stability and any repair or retrofitted recommendations
    • Analysis of existing structures to investigate feasibility of additions, remodels, or adding additional loads (such as gun safes, hot tubs or change of use from storage to living) and overall stability
